Databases (non-SQL, mainly)

SchemeQL - SQL in scheme -
http://citeseer.nj.nec.com/welsh02schemeunit.html - a very nice embedding
of sql (in scheme, of course).

The third manifesto - SQL wasn't relational (properly) -
http://c2.com/cgi/wiki?TheThirdManifesto (a lot of interesting comments
and a lot easier to understand than the link above!). The paper is at
http://citeseer.nj.nec.com/darwen95third.html and the book at
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0201309785 More info at
http://dmoz.org/Computers/Software/Databases/Relational/Model/ also,
mildly loony in appearance, but apparently respected -
http://www.dbdebunk.com and http://www.thethirdmanifesto.com/ (not as
authoritative as the name suggests).

Structural Recursion as a Query Language -
http://citeseer.nj.nec.com/breazu-tannen91structural.html - extending the
relational model with recursion over sets (I think!).

All from a classic Lambda thread -
