Early Investigation into Madoff

Some interesting stuff is appearing if you search around, including:

http://nakedshorts.typepad.com/nakedshorts/2008/12/if-it-sounds-too-good-to-be-true.html
which provides
http://nakedshorts.typepad.com/files/madoff.pdf from 2001(!)

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122910977401502369.html?mod=googlenews_wsj

And if you've not been following the news, Madoff is the guy who has
(allegedly ;o) scammed some very, very rich people with a Ponzi scheme
(see last link above).

Madoff as a Jew

From: "andrew cooke" <andrew@...>

An interesting angle - apparently he was Jewish, which isn't exactly good
PR... - http://iht.com/bin/printfriendly.php?id=18903457

Bleak closing para: "It is not possible for him to atone for all the
damage he did," the rabbi said, "and I don't even think that there is a
punishment that is commensurate with the crime, for the wreckage of lives
that he's left behind. The only thing he could do, for the rest of his
life, is work for redemption that he would never achieve."
