Panasonic has just announced the successor to the (my) LX2 and it sounds like they are doing a lot of things right: - The lens is faster and wider - The pixel count has not gone up - The detector size has stayed about the same (they're saying it's bigger, but I think there's some spin and.or losses in the multi-format support) - They're claiming 3db better signal to noise in the electronics - There's a hot shoe - Optional optical viewfinder - Optional extra lenses However, at least one sample image that's out on the net looks *terrible* - there's some discussion at dpreview suggesting it may be due to a mix of jpeg and sharpening artefacts. Apart from the worry about the image (which is a big worry), this is pretty amazing - they're really trying to make a "photographer's camera"... Andrew
