Rytmo explores some ideas about automatic rhythm generation. I guess two
different kinds of people could use it:
-
People who don't know Lisp, but want to generate rhythm patterns which
they can use in CSound. I've included some examples (see the Introduction) that show how
to do this.
-
People who know Lisp and want to play around with other selection
functions (algorithms that measure what makes a good rhythm). I've
included enough comments in the code to make things reasonably clear, I
hope.
The ALU site contains further Lisp
information, including pointers to free implementations for many
platforms. CSound also has its own
site.

Download the files as tarball (unix) or zipped archive. Some browsers may try and display
the tarball rather than saving it to disk - if so, use "save link as a
file", or similar, from your browser menus or right mouse button (sorry
- I am trying to get the server here re-configured).
